Meet Effaemiodoh Solomon Eteng : Calaber Most versatile artist.



To the world and to the art generation, E. S. Effa, a fine and fast rising visual communicator who hails from Cross River State was born on the 4th of September 1990 in Lagos state. He attended Ritlad Nursery & Primary School, and Lagos State Model College both in Meiran, Lagos State in the year 1994 - 2000 and 2001 - 2008 respectively. At fifteen
, after his Junior Certificate Examination, he works as an assistant teacher of Computer appreciation for six months at Ob-Kings computer school, Choba, opposite University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. After obtaining his Secondary School Certificate as a science student and while waiting for admission into the university,  he became employed in a primary school where he taught creative arts.

He resigned after 18 month to study Computer Networking at TTC Mobile at Oba Ladejobi, GRA Ikeja, Lagos. He then gained admission into the department of Visual Arts & Technology in Cross River University of Technology from 2010 - 2014.

As a dedicated student of the university, not only did he attain academic excellence but also contributed to the growth, development, and empowerment of students as a pressman, an art activist, as well as a very social being. He joined the schools press team in his second year of study and became the Chief Press Secretary of his department and was also honored and awarded for his selfless contributions to the Department of Arts, Visual Art & Technology Student Association, and Student Unionism at his final year of study in the university before graduating as her finest painting student.

At the eleventh Araism Movement exhibition held at Mydrim Gallery, Ikoyi, Lagos, on the 14th of September 2013, he was commended by the great founder of the Araism Movement, Mufu Onifade MA. for his dedication to arts development after rounding up his Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme at the Universal Studios of Arts, National Theater, Iganmu Lagos, where he met, learned, and gained inspiration from Nigeria's finest painters in the likes of Abiodun Olaku, Ejoh Walace, Nmesirionye Joshua, Edosa Ogiugo, Akinola Ebenezer, Emeka Nwabara and many others.

As participated in several exhibition and competitions such as Indelible 2011, VATSA 2014 exhibition, "Less is more" Life In My City Arts Festival 2014 and others, he views Arts as a deity and its renditions as a ritual. He also sees Artists as creators and divine being sent not just to make the earth beautiful but also to solve problems that lingers in the society with their language of creativity to extend the lifespan of God's creation.

As the C.E.O of DeMotif' Art, he has merged art and fashion and uses it as a tool to transform the fashion industry in Nigeria, telling a story with every piece made out of disposable/ found objects, recycling them into Costumes, Clothings, and Jewelry and impacting lives with contracts from the annual Calabar Carnival,  Most Beautiful Face in Nigera Pageant,  Mr Independence Pageant, Mr & Miss Unical Pageant, Mr & Miss CRUTECH Pageant,  Mr & Miss VAT Pageant,  Runway fashion shows and exhibitions  by World Charming Smart Courage and more. He is on a mission to minimize the scarcity of genuine arts materials in Calabar, Cross River State as the Manager of Tisol Fortune Nig. Ltd, marketers of arts materials in Calabar.

As a creative writer and poet under the umbrella of Creative Cycle & Artiberty, he encourages artist to write their own stories and of their works to serve as historical documentations making them live forever on earth even after they have joined their ancestors. His an impressionist and expressionist, he loves to explore waste materials too.Effa loves painting in greys of cool colours and likes his colours to be depressive.He affirms strongly that "in art,there's ample freedom to get more talented than the talent itself ".
